Zip Screens for Centurion Golf Estate Patios

Vertical screens locked tight in aluminium side channels — the product that turns an exposed water- or fairway-facing patio into an outdoor room, closed off from breeze, insects and glare without losing the view.

The zip difference

Why an ordinary drop screen won't hold out here

An ordinary drop-roller screen flaps and eventually escapes its guides in real wind — and a stand backing onto open water or an open fairway catches wind differently to a sheltered inland courtyard. A zip screen's fabric edge is welded into a zipper that runs captive in aluminium side channels, so there's no flapping and no gap for a breeze off the water to get through.

Sunscreen mesh keeps the dam or fairway view while cutting glare, UV and insects, with daytime privacy as a bonus. Clear PVC panels go further, sealing a patio against wind and rain entirely while keeping it fully glazed — the option most people choose for a winter braai room that still needs the view.

  • Sunscreen mesh in various openness levels, or clear PVC for a sealed winter room
  • Zipped channels hold tension in real wind — no flapping, no escaped edges
  • Motorised as standard on wide spans, with wind-sensor retract for exposed positions
  • Colour-matched channels to blend with the estate's architectural finishes

Sizing it right

Built to close off a real outdoor room, not just one door

Individual screens run wide — often into the 4m-plus class — which suits the generous entertaining patios common on Centurion Golf Estate stands. A multi-screen enclosure across an open-plan patio is one of the bigger jobs we quote, and it's worth planning as a single project rather than opening after opening, so the finish reads as one enclosed room rather than a row of separate screens.

As with any exterior system here, the wind consideration isn't optional. We motorise wide spans as standard and fit a wind sensor on anything in an exposed position, so the screens retract themselves ahead of a gust rather than taking the strain of a highveld storm head-on.

What it costs

What a zip screen costs

Zip screens are priced per square metre of screen, installed. Without a motor you are looking at R2,800 – R4,500 for each square metre, and with one, R4,000 – R6,000. Most of the difference between a screen and an ordinary outdoor blind is in the side tracks the fabric zips into, and in the fixings that hold it steady when the wind comes across open water.

On an exposed patio we would spend the difference on a motor and a wind sensor before spending it on extra size, because a screen that pulls itself in ahead of a storm is the one still working the following season. Small openings carry a minimum charge. Every screen carries a stated wind rating, and we give you that number during the free measure, along with the real per-opening price in writing afterwards.

Where we fit them

Zip screens across the Centurion Golf Estate belt

Closing a patio off from the breeze isn't just a water- or fairway-facing problem — mature-garden patios in Eldoraigne, fresh new-build entertaining areas in Raslouw, and exposed decks at Copperleaf and Blue Valley all get the same welded-zip, wind-sensored specification.
